Sometimes, the best way through which you can learn is by comparing and contrasting between good and bad, probably the best method for creating an online dating profile. So without further additions, here are some examples of bad online dating profiles:

1.

“My friends say that I am intelligent, educated, professional and ambitious, but I am not good at writing about myself. I like sports and good wine and I am looking to meet a beautiful and intelligent woman to date and have a relationship with.” Well, it may seem like a well-written profile by a guy who looks like he has his life together. However, it has a big flaw that usually makes women just skip over it and that is because it’s too generic and common. It looks like all the other thousands of profiles and it just doesn’t have anything catchy about it. You need to know how to compel your reader to stop and respond to your profile.

2.

Another bad profile example is: “I come from the east coast, but now I work for a major software company where I’m working up the corporate ladder. I’m very busy. I love watching baseball, barbeques on weekends and hiking.” The writer must realize that this is a dating profile, not a resume, or a sales presentation. It is a very weak profile because it starts by talking about background and work and it is not at all interesting and not so relevant in comparison to your goals here and that is to catch a woman’s attention.

3.

“I love parties, dancing and having fun while drinking with my friends. If you want to hang out sometimes, contact me.” If you are in a fraternity, you should write things like these, but if you’re not, you need to keep in mind that a profile with this kind of self-description gives the impression that all he does is drinking and partying, lacking any life goals.

So we’ve seen the bad examples of profiles and now we’ll talk about ones that stand out through the way they were written as well as their content. You shouldn’t be interested in just any woman. Instead, you should target the one who you believe you can have a real connection with, no matter what type of relationship you are looking for.

About me: “I don’t want to bore you by telling you how wonderful I am, by adding some flattering adjectives to my name. I am sure that you already have seen this a few hundred times in every other profile. Words are cheap, actions speak louder, so why bother? I will start with the bad stuff: I am sometimes restless and impulsive, I cannot kill a fly, I cried like a girl when I watched the “Notebook”, I often cuss and stay up way too late and often. I find the nighttime to be magic and if you will, it keeps me up working or just hanging around. Can you relate? I don’t have a lot of patience for flakes and fake people (those who smile on the outside but are angry on the inside as I can never tell what they might have up their sleeve). What about you? What annoyed you today and made you weak from joy and pleasure?

About you: You are curious about everything happening around you. You know how to take a joke and don’t get easily offended. You believe in sarcasm as a spice of life, you know how to spell and are generally happy, the rest we can negotiate.

First date: I don’t think that it really matters what we do on a first date, I am a fan of simplicity so coffee and a nice walk sounds really good.”

This is just one example of a profile that slips out of the ordinary and stands out as being different and better than most other profiles written by men on online dating sites. It is strong, it has a unique beginning and really interesting content and a few questions at the end will surely encourage a woman to give a response.
