What does “I need some time for myself” mean?
I have been dating this girl three times now and I thought things were going in the right direction. Last night she told me she needs some time for herself and she needs to figure out whether she is ready to be in a relationship or not. Should I be patient and wait for her?

Lets Bond answers:
Oh! A typical case of ‘diplomatic ‘rejection. Well first of all, apparently your dates were not going so well if she told you that.
Second of all, wait for what? She will not come around and change her mind. The fact is, you got rejected and you have to suck it up. The reason she told you she needs some time for herself and that she is still not ready for a relationship it only means she is not ready for a relationship with YOU. She just could not tell you straightforward that she does not feel comfortable with you and does not want to see you anymore.
You do not have to take it too hard, but truth is she did not really enjoy dating with you. Maybe it was something you did or said, but she was not impressed enough to continue seeing you. It is rather useless to torment yourself by wondering what you could have done and what went wrong. But now you know that next time you need to use another strategy when going out on a date.
Be confident, do not be afraid to be yourself and show her you have attitude and you are determined to make her yours.
Good luck next time!
