You only have one chance at a good first date. Most people imagine a first date including a meal or a coffee and this type of date involves one-on-one interaction which allows you to get to know each other better, but this is the most nerve-racking part of the date.

Some basic topics prepared prior to the date can help you get to know each other and reduce the risks of an awkward silence. The first date conversation is similar to a job interview where you want to run down everything: job history, interest, education, experience, goals and strong points, but you mustn’t make your date feel like she is on one. Ask her questions in a relaxed way. Some of them may be:

“Where did you grow up?”

“What do you do for fun?”

“What kind of music do you like?”

“What’s the last movie you saw in a theater?”

You can ask her anything you can imagine because the more you find out, the easier it will be for you to decide if you want to go on a second date and prepare your second date conversation.
