Once, I met a cute girl, nicely dressed with beautiful photos, elegant, decent, clean, finally the image of a nice and delicate girl. She was different from all the others that I saw on the Internet.
What was she looking for on an online dating site? She was looking for her stolen photos.

One day a friend of her called and asked what was she doing on an online dating site? The young woman, logged on the respective site and found 3 pictures of her on an online dating profile made by someone else, searching for a long-term relationship with hopes of marriage.
These photos are still public, sadly the admin of the respective site hasn’t deleted the profile. The girl had to set all her profiles as private.

There are a lot of other sad stories, far worse than this one.
Online dates aren’t something new anymore. But there are some things you should know about online dating scams or online frauds.
A lot of people have a profile on an online dating site for the same reasons as you do, a sincere person looking for an honest relationship. But even on the best sites there are some strange users. You never know who is behind the beautiful photo: a truly beautiful woman or a strange person who uses the picture of an unknown model to satisfy their mischievous intentions.
If you are searching for true love online, here are some tips on how to protect yourself from frauds.

1. Sounds harsh, but it is real: Online Prostitution

At a first glance over a profile, look carefully at the chosen name for the profile. Honest women will never pick up names like: “wild girl”, “naked for you”, “unknown pleasures”, etc.
Online prostitutes, even if they will never say their intention on the respective site, are however clear and direct in the self-summary.

Their online dating profile has a confident tone, sensual photos, live web, small amount of clothes and some of them even specify that are willing to satisfy all your wishes. Also, when their indecent photo mismatches the decent description, the alarm should ring in your head.
There are a lot of other types and I believe that if you would stay long enough on an online dating site, you would notice them too.

2. Phone scams
There are a lot of phone scams, everywhere in this world. Some women will ask you to call them on a certain special number, a number which will raise you phone bill immensely.

3. Touristic scam

Remember that a beautiful woman and a vague profile description mean trouble for a man. This woman who posts a location that is close to yours, will immediately tell you she’s from another country and will ask for money to get to you the moment you start talking to her.
A man told me how he has been in contact with a woman who asked for financial help in order to get to London. After attentive and sensual talks that shown how much she would like to be near him and her willingness to find the soul mate in London, would specify that she doesn’t have the money.
After he gave her money for the trip, she wouldn’t answer on phone or online anymore.

4. I’m convinced that everybody received a mail with The Nigerian Postal Scam at a certain moment

Women who pretend they are relatives of some deadly-ill person and need help to make some financial transactions.
The victims are lured by the perspective of a fast substantial income, through inheritance or money laundering. The victims will be asked to pay in advance some fake fees and taxes, presented as unforeseen. In this way, the scam can stretch until months before the discovery. In 1998, a Japanese business man lost 35 million dollars, because of the Nigerian scam.
Listen to your instincts and for sure your alarm will ring at the right time, before you become the victim of an online dating scam.
